Over 40 Years of Experience
Vocal Coaching In Franklin That Works
Hudnall advanced vocal technique is designed to train and develop a student’s ability to produce a natural, beautiful, emotional, and versatile sound appropriate to their genre, pop, country, jazz, or musical theater. It is customized, detailed, practical, logical and designed for hard-working students who wish to experience rapid and consistent improvement.
It has been my experience that every vocal student has developed differently, with different habits, vocal influences and varying strength in their vocal registers. I treat each student as an individual, developing and strengthening any areas that need attention, including but not limited to vocal strength, pitch, tone, expression, phrasing, breath control and timing, choice of material, body language, habits that have developed that need correction, and overall delivery of a performance and or song.

What People Say
When I met Cathy I was a dancer who loved Musical Theatre and only got by with singing. She is the person who took me from “Dancer” to a well balanced “Performer”. Since studying with Cathy, I have spent eight years as a musical theater performer based in New York City! Cathy played a huge role in getting me there by setting me up for success, really caring about my career, and providing me with a solid foundation to stand on. Following her methods gave me the confidence to jump into my career and I wouldn’t be where I am today without her knowledge, patience, and individualized training.
When I met Cathy I had been singing in studio sessions and touring for most of my life. Although I used my voice a lot my voice was exhausted. I was never taught how to care for it, to see it as an instrument, or to appreciate and value it. After just a few months working with her, my range widened, and my voice grew much stronger! I have sung for many artists over my career and worked with several people, and studied teachers in prestigious private colleges and arenas. But never in my life has any one person had more influence on my voice than Cathy! After being her student some 20 years ago, she is still the person I call to prepare for any big audition or just to build and strengthen my voice! I can not recommend her highly enough to match her value and gift!
After discovering my love for theatre, music, and performing back in 8th grade, I was a passionate soul with no direction. I loved the craft, but never had vocal or dance training, and just kind of figured things out as I went along. I took theatre and choir in high school, and my teachers mentored me there, but I never entirely felt like I could make performing a career. Then I met Cathy, and that instantly changed. She has invested so much into taking me—my voice—from where it was and developing it a hundredfold. She doesn’t try to shape me into someone else’s sound, but she listens to my unique voice and pushes it to grow into more of what it already is shaping to be. There has never once been a point where I couldn’t go to her for guidance or advice. She encourages, teaches, mentors, and supports every single one of her students, and if you’re willing to go the extra mile and really work for it, Cathy is right there with you. There are not words to describe my appreciation for her, or how much I sincerely recommend her as a vocal coach and mentor.
